چکیده
Effective and scalable recycling strategies for the recovery of critical raw materials are yet to be validated solid oxide cells (SOCs) technologies. The current study aimed at filling this gap by developing optimized processes Yttria-stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) from End-of-Life (EoL) SOC components, in view using recovered ceramic phase cell re-manufacturing. A multi-step procedure, including milling, hydrothermal treatment (HT), acidic-assisted leaching nickel composite Ni-YSZ materials, has been implemented obtain YSZ powders with defined specifications, terms particle size distribution, specific surface area, chemical purity. overall procedure includes a pre-milling step (6 h) EoL (HT) 200 °C 4 h further disaggregate sintered composite, followed selective oxidative Ni2+ HNO3 solution 80 2 h. In particular, intermediate HT was assessed play an essential role promoting disaggregation powders, related increase area (up 13 m2 g−1) reduction primary aggregates. acid-assisted allowed fully extract Nickel retention crystallinity negligible loss Zr Y, as revealed ICP analysis on supernatants. developed pathway offers promising strategy recover valuable re-manufacturing SOCs aim boost circular economy approach field fuel-cell hydrogen (FCH)

The oxygen tracer diffusion coefficient describing transport along nano-/microscaled YSZ/Sc2O3 multilayers as a function of the thick-ness of the ion-conducting YSZ layers has been measured by isotope exchange depth profiling (IEDP), using secondary ion mass spec-trometry (SIMS). The multilayer samples were prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) on (0001) Al2O3 single crystalline substrates....

Micro-tubular solid oxide fuel cell based on a porous yttria-stabilized zirconia support
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are promising electrochemical energy conversion devices owing to their high power generation efficiency and environmentally benign operation. Micro-tubular SOFCs, which have diameters ranging from a few millimeters to the sub-millimeter scale, offer several advantages over competing SOFCs such as high volumetric power density, good endurance against thermal cyclin...

Partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) has been proven to be an excellent candidate as a thermal barrier coating (TBe) for hot sections in, for instance, heat or internal combustion engines and gas turbine parts. The main functions of these coatings are reducing heat losses, reducing fuel consumption, increasing efficiency, and extending durability and life. One of the main problems involved is we...
